Thailand Productivity Institute Visits Leanplans to Explore a New Digital Ecosystem for Southeast Asia’s Manufacturing Sector

Thailand Productivity Institute

Recently, at the invitation of the Shenzhen International Chamber of Commerce (SICC), the Thailand Productivity Institute (FTPI) paid a business visit to Leanplans for an in-depth exchange.

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is the world’s largest and most representative private-sector business organization. It is officially authorized by the State Council of China to serve as the national committee representing China in ICC activities. SICC, as the Shenzhen branch of the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), operates under the administration of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Shenzhen Committee. It is composed of local enterprises and organizations engaged in international commercial activities. As a key platform connecting enterprises to global markets, SICC plays an important role in supporting Shenzhen businesses in expanding their domestic and international presence.

Over the years, SICC has made significant contributions to promoting international economic and trade cooperation and facilitating global engagement for Shenzhen-based companies. It has done so by organizing international business exchanges, trade matchmaking events, and legal seminars on international commerce, as well as by coordinating participation in major domestic and international exhibitions and overseas business delegations. The chamber also provides timely business intelligence such as global trade updates, early warnings on international trade frictions, and supply-demand matchmaking lists to help its members enhance their brand visibility and explore overseas markets.

The visiting delegation first toured the Xili Lake Talent Service Center and its technology innovation incubator, followed by an in-depth visit to Leanplans’ intelligent office environment and R&D testing center. Both parties engaged in a deep exchange on the practical applications of AI foundation models in the manufacturing industry.

The 24-member delegation included senior advisors from the Thailand Productivity Institute, executives from HOYA Group, and representatives from the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce. They were warmly received by Leanplans’ Chief Operating Officer, Head of Marketing, and Head of Product, who accompanied the guests throughout the visit.

End-to-End AI Solution Demonstration

In the demo hall, the Leanplans technical team presented a full-cycle AI-powered solution for industrial component design and manufacturing. Using a real-world part drawing, the system generated a parametric 3D model within one minute, complete with structural strength simulations. By dynamically referencing local raw material prices, it produced a cost analysis report for the optimal manufacturing process in just 30 seconds. The delegation also experienced the seamless “one-click online order” feature, where the AI-generated drawings could be instantly transmitted to a cloud-based factory for production.

This “cloud-based design + rapid manufacturing validation” model sparked great interest from the visiting group.

“From a conceptual sketch to a production-ready order in just a few minutes—this kind of integrated and accelerated workflow will significantly shorten new product development cycles,” said Mr. Chetthapong Sinthara, Senior Advisor of the Thailand Productivity Institute, impressed by the demonstration.

Our engineers further highlighted the model’s historical learning capabilities: the system has accumulated extensive localized manufacturing data from North America, Europe, and Asia, achieving a quoting accuracy rate of up to 92% across mainstream manufacturing processes.

Deep-Dive Dialogue Triggered by Technical Foundation

During the company introduction session, Leanplans’ Product Director gave an in-depth explanation of the company’s core technological strengths. Developed jointly with the Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen (HITsz), Leanplans’ industrial-grade AI assistant is capable of parsing and interpreting a wide range of engineering file formats. The system is built upon a comprehensive manufacturing knowledge graph containing over one million process rules, with enhanced algorithmic adaptation to niche and specialized manufacturing processes. A live demo of the AI assistant sparked lively discussion among the delegates.

The Q&A session focused on two key areas: problem-solving effectiveness and technical architecture.

The technical team clarified that the top priority of their AI solution is improving efficiency. For example, one of the initial partner factories—HZ Drone—was able to reduce its design-to-production cycle from 45 days to just 15 using Leanplans’ AI tools. Additionally, by leveraging its industrial-scale large language model, Leanplans has significantly shortened process debugging cycles and enabled low-volume production—down to a minimum order quantity of one.

In terms of architecture, Leanplans has developed a proprietary mixture-of-experts model (LP-MoE), trained on its own extensive manufacturing knowledge base. For computational support, it uses a hybrid-cloud architecture: core process parameters are processed in a private compute cluster co-built with HITsz, while general tasks are handled via partner cloud platforms. All data flows are secured and compliant with cloud security certifications.

Building a New Ecosystem for Smart Manufacturing

The visit came at a pivotal moment, as Thailand continues to advance its Thailand 4.0 strategy — a national initiative aimed at transforming the country into a knowledge-based economy capable of competing with high-income nations.

“We noticed that your company is also developing an AI-enabled Intelligent Manufacturing Execution System (IMES),” one of the delegates remarked while pointing to the large display screen.

Our technical team then introduced the IMES interface: every product is automatically verified at each critical quality checkpoint in real time. For example, when excessive porosity is detected in a casting, the system issues compensation instructions to three associated machines within just 0.8 seconds.

Technology Deployment Paves the Way for a Smart Manufacturing Corridor

In this cross-border industry dialogue spanning over 1,600 kilometers, AI-driven intelligent manufacturing solutions demonstrated their significant strategic value. At the end of the visit, the technical teams from both sides gathered for a group photo in front of the Xili Lake Talent Service Center display — a symbolic moment underscoring the strong compatibility of China’s intelligent manufacturing systems with Southeast Asian industrial scenarios.

This visit provided solid validation for Leanplans’ strategic roadmap in expanding into the Southeast Asian smart manufacturing ecosystem. The boundaries of its technology applications are now extending toward more complex global industrial environments.
